We met at UC Santa Cruz in the Spring of 2005 while preparing to go on a river rafting trip. We officially became a couple on July 12th 2005, and have been together ever since. At Shana's graduation party I proposed to her in front of all of her friends and family. Obviously she said yes. A few days later we went to Vegas for a couple months, and then we moved to sunny San Diego, where we currently live with our puppy Juneau.
We are getting married in the Crystal Ballroom of the US Grant Hotel on April 24th, 2010 at 4:30 PM.
Our reception will be in the Palm Court room at 6 PM after a 1 hour cocktail hour in the foyer.
We are getting group rates for the nights of Friday April 23 and Saturday April 24th at a couple of hotels in the area. The US Grant will be offering rooms at $219/night, they are a 5 star hotel with very nice rooms, and are located in central downtown. The Hawthorn Suites will be offering rooms at $79/night. They come with a kitchenette and are located in Hotel Circle, about 3 miles North of Downtown. They will offer a free continental breakfast every morning, and offer cab service to and from downtown San Diego, or any other destination you are going. The Westin San Diego is offering rooms at $159/night. It is located in central downtown. For each place please mention the Calano/Haynie Wedding to get the group discount rate. On Friday April 23rd we will be hosting a BBQ at our house 2175 Cowley Way San Diego, CA 92110 from 12PM - 2PM. This is open to anyone who was invited to the wedding. Then later Friday night there will be a rehearsal dinner at Buca di Beppo in Downtown San Diego. If you are wanting to come to this please let us know before your arrival, as space is limited.
