On our honeymoon in Madrid we’ll visit Avila and Segovia! In Avila we’ll see the birthplace of the mystic writer Saint Teresa of Jesus and we’ll admire the picturesque view of Avila on the hill of Los Cuatro Postes after visiting San Vicente Basilic. In Segovia we’ll witness its amazing Aqueduct, see its Alcazar, a beautiful and world famous 11th-century Medieval Castle inspired by the Disney Castle and indulge in the fresh flavors of a typical Segovian lunch at Solaire Restaurant!

Your gift allows us to discover Madrid with a 2-day pass that gives us free entry to more than 50 museums and cultural attractions, including the Prado Museum and the Royal Palace. It also gives us unlimited use of hop-on, hop-off sightseeing buses, and free walking tours.

Your wedding gift goes toward reserving our Honeymoon Suite. Our luxurious hotel is situated right in the lively core of the Capital provided by Plaza Espana, Puerta Del Sol and the cosmopolitan Gran Via with its many theatres and cinemas.

Sobrino de Botin is a restaurant established in 1725. It is listed by the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest restaurant in the world. Part of the restaurant's folklore has it that a young Francisco Goya worked there as a waiter while waiting to get a place at Madrid's "Royal Academy of Fine Art". The Sobrino and its speciality of cochinillo asado ("roast suckling pig") are mentioned in the closing pages of Ernest Hemingway's novel, The Sun Also Rises. Your gift gives us the 4 hour "Botin Experience", which starts off with a closed door guided tour of this historic restaurant, followed by a 4 course meal.
